Internationally acclaimed flautist Stefano Bet will delight our audience this weekend with themes, diminutions, and variations by D. Ortiz, J. Sweelink, J. Dowland, C. Monteverdi, F. Cavalli, and others.

Stefano Bet is one of the most innovative italian flutists of his generation, specialist in baroque, classic, renaissance traverso and recorder. He was born in Friuli Venezia Giulia (Italy), autodidact about historic instruments, followed courses with the best specialists, among others Kujiken Brothers and Harnoncourt at Padova, Roma, Antwerpen, Netherlands, Basel, Salzburg. Stefano made his debut in 1983 at Festival Vivaldi Venezia, then participated as a solo, chamber and in orchestra at many international festivals like Accademia di Santa Cecilia Roma, Accademia Chigiana di Siena, Festival del Lingotto a Torino, Teatro alla Scala Milano, Teatro La Fenice Venezia, Bologna Festival, Mozarteum Salzburg, Musikverein Wien, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées Paris, Royal Opera of Versailles, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Barcelona Palau de la Música, Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci and Europe, America e Asia. Stefano collaborated with Diego Fasolis & I Barocchisti & Coro della Radio Svizzera, I Sonatori de la Gioiosa Marca, Alain Curtis, Cecilia Bartoli, Accademia Strumentale Italiana, Gustav Leonhardt, Orchestra del Teatro alla Scala, Accademia Bizantina, Dario Luisi & Susanne Scholz & Cappella Musicae Graz, Orquesta Barroca de Sevilla, Streicherakademie Bozen, Concerto Palatino, Orchestra del Teatro La Fenice, Max Emanuel Cencic, Collegium Cartusianum Köln, Philippe Jaroussky, Giuliano Carmignola, Andrea Marcon, Chœur de Radio France, Concerto Armonico Budapest, Sergio Azzolini e and others. Expert connoisseur of the chamber and orchestral repertoire (from Monteverdi to Mozart), also the solo recital "Del sonar con ogni sorte de flauti" (to play on any type of flute) had a good success. Stefano has recorded for many Radios and TV, Cd and Video for Tactus, Stradivarius, Amadeus, Centaur, Cpo, Naxos, Arts, Chandos, Emi, Decca, Erato, Virgin, Sony, sometimes getting critical acclaim. A dedicated teacher, active in the musicological and organologic researches, he has given courses and master classes for musicians from many countries around the world. Since 1991 he has taught historical flutes and chamber music at the Scuola di Musica Antica di Venezia.
