Do you like to travel? Some people do, others don't. But most people would agree on one thing; Traveling leads to new discoveries! ♪♫♬

In the era of our featured composers, journeys were often extremely long and tedious, particularly because they did not possess the comforts and technologies of current day. Nevertheless, travel was common and perhaps even more so than in current day! The greatest travelers were the musicians, painters, street artists etc., who would journey from one city to another in search of a king or patron who would welcome them and admire them for their work.

When one studies the history of music, the following question is often raised: between French music and Italian music, which is the superior?
Many respond with French music, while others say Italian… And yet there is composer and musician E. Jacquet de la Guerre (1655 - 1729), who demonstrates through her music that the union of these two cultures can actually lead to the creation of something uniquely special.

Join us for a musical voyage of discovery from Venice to France!
