In this week’s program we are presenting the "rare" concertos, referred to as such because they are very rarely performed! They bring a breath of fresh air into the immense sea of what has already been discovered, and what still needs to be revived! ♪♫♬

So who were these lesser known composers...?
Firstly, we present Wilhelmine von Bayreuth, better known as the older sister of Frederick II the Great. Both were musicians, and more precisely Frederick II was a flutist, while Wilhelmine was a composer. A composer, who thanks to her individual style, helped to develop the musical life of Bayreuth by making it one of the most brilliant and innovative cities of the time similarly modelling the cultural and artistic life of Versailles!
Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach was the second of Johann Sebastian Bach’s twenty children! He was fortunate to receive his initial musical training with his father. C.P.E. Bach’s style differed from his father's, even if his influences can be noted! He was one of the principal composers of the gallant style that was very popular at the time, creating a musical discourse that develops in the form of a conversation where each instrument dialogues in a distinct and elegant way with the other concertante instruments.
