Venice Music Project Ba-ROCKED

our first US Tour!!!!

After a great start for Marija and Liesl at Penn State University with our musicologist friend and collaborator, Marica Tacconi...

We then proceeded to California...

...where we met up with the rest of the band.

Our first rehearsal was in a glorious setting...

Although jetlag meant that naptime was unavoidable for some...

The concert for InConcert Sierra was a huge success, with not one but TWO standing ovations!!!!

Stanford University was the site of two masterclasses and glorious autumn weather, plus our concert as part of the A. Jess Shenson Recital Series.

Road trips in the US include the inevitable stop at Dunkin' Donuts... (no, better to pretend you didn't see this....!)

Our next stop was Trinity College for a performance of A Venetian Affair -- another standing room-only performance, followed by a standing ovation!

The cast party, thrown by VMP supporters Mary and Howard Frank, was the best possible way to end the evening!

The final concert of our tour was at St. Bernard's Church in Bernardsville, NJ, where Liesl grew up in the choir and sang her very first solo at age 11!

And after an afternoon graciously hosted by Jane and Bob Odenweller...

...we all headed for home, tired, but excited by our success!

Meanwhile, back in Venice, our colleagues and collaborators turned in an outstanding final concert, in addition to dealing with all the problems related to acqua alta....

We are all incredibly grateful to our Venice-based team, especially for their hard work and diligence in those difficult weeks!

Now that we are back in Venice and the dust has settled, we are focusing on Season 2020 -- and we have some AMAZING ideas and titles lined up!
